Like so many of Ex Nihilo scents, you experience a battle of wills between competing camps of genre and families. You can rest assured there will always be a soft landing of woods and amber, and in many cases tonka bean, but here the bergamot and ginger bring a spicy citrus every bit as strong as the peppery cedar and scratchy vetiver. For every pull from one side comes a push to the other. They somehow turn this toe to toe into quite the dance, moving between each other in such incredible harmony. Such gracious dance partners, they allow a little musk and tonka to cut in from time to time to chance the pace, but they never allow the music to stop, and it keeps going all night.
