Opulent, vintage, and gilded just like the painted screens this fragrance was named for. The neroli and citrus notes it opens on quickly give way to a scent that is seductively warm and smoky with dense amber, resins, and incense. I have to applaud the nose Jacques Polege for using white chocolate in the base here, it makes the patchouli and orris absolutely scrumptious. The patchouli in Coromandel smells wet and green, giving this fragrance a slight petrichor facet that adds to the moodiness. One of the best amber patchouli scents out there, bar none.
